Former Sag Harbor resident Matilda E. Hager died on November 19 at Carillon Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Huntington. She was 96.
Born to Caroline (née Betz) and Joseph Miller on June 26, 1912, in The Bronx, she attended St. Barnabas High Schoo and also attended Grace Institute in New York City.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Marino of Sag Harbor and Susan Holden of Huntington; a son, F. Laurence Hager of Florida; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank J. Hager, in 1976. Two sisters, Agnes Miller (Sister Miriam Caroline) and Frances Pierce, and three brothers, William Miller, Joseph Miller and Reverend Frederic Miller predeceased her.
Funeral services were held on November 22 at St. Andrew’s Church in Sag Harbor, followed by interment in the church cemetery.
