Water Mill resident Maureen Ethel (née MacTernan) Gould died on August 1.
A 1955 graduate of Lenox Hill Hospital School of Nursing, and New York University, she received a master’s degree in public health and a second master’s in urban planning from Columbia University. Formerly of Manhattan, she was employed as a nurse at Lenox Hill Hospital and was a special assistant to the executive director of the New York County Medical Society.
She is survived by a daughter, Tamara and her husband Josh Leuchtenburg; and a granddaughter, Julia. Her husband, Dr. Wilbur James “Jim” Gould, predeceased her.
A memorial service will be held today, Thursday, August 7, at 11:30 a.m. at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home, 1076 Madison Avenue at 81st Street in New York City.
In lieu of flowers, donations to East End Hospice, P.O. Box 1048, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978 would be appreciated by the family.
