Mere Stewards

With the conclusion of the 2025 election, I want to take an opportunity to thank the members of my team and all those who came out to vote. To those who support me and voted for me, I would not be able to do it without you, and I thank you for your trust. To those whose vote I didn’t win, I say: I am glad you came out to voice your opinion, and I look forward to earning your respect in the future.

During my time on the board, it has also been a great pleasure working alongside Trustees Scott Horowitz, Chip Maran and Ed Warner Jr. I must thank them for their contributions, knowledge and service. Our nonpartisan collaboration allowed our board to achieve great milestones for betterment of the community.

Throughout my time in public service, I have always been aware that we are mere stewards of the positions we hold. This is not about any one person but about our community and preserving our way of life in Southampton. Therefore, I am hopeful our new board will work together and above all remember that we must work hard every day.

There is much in store to come from our board, and I am excited to see all the great results we can achieve as a community.

Joseph R. McLoughlin
