Michael J. Behan Of Montauk Dies May 18

Michael J. Behan, formerly of Montauk and East Hampton, died May 18. He was 57.

Born March 21, 1958, he was the son of Captain Lester Behan and Marie Behan, both of whom predeceased him. He attended Little Flower Catholic School in Montauk and graduated from East Hampton High School.

He raised his son, Sgt. Matthew J. Behan, USMC, who survives, in East Hampton and moved to Colorado five years ago.

He is also survived by brothers John of Montauk and Jim of Manhattan; sisters, Joan Fitzgerald and Janice Maranov, both of Southampton, and Marles Behan of Southold.

A funeral Mass was held at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton on May 27, followed by burial at Mount St. Mary Cemetery in Queens.
