Michael James McNally of East Hampton died on February 10, 2019. He was 55.
Mr. McNally was a software development leader with a broad background in technology and management. He was known for delivering high quality, leading-edge, best-in-class products.
He began his career as a computer programmer of defense technology at Northrop Grumman. In addition, he was a professor at Baruch College in New York City, teaching database design, XML, conceptual modeling, ASP, NET and e-commerce. He worked in financial services doing business application development, infrastructure management and data feeds for trading, research and analytical systems. He had experience in managing the planning, development and deployment of numerous large-scale software systems for various clients including Fidelity Investments, UBS, Chemical Bank/Chase, Bear Stearns, Smart Money, DLJ/CFSB, and he was a project manager for Citigate Hudson. More recently, he was a real estate investor.
Predeceased by his father, Michael Joseph McNally, Mr. McNally is survived by his mother, Carol Ann McNally; and his sisters, Laura Schilling (Phil), Michelle Boritz (Leo) and Joanie; five nieces, Lauren Tuffy (Colin), Jacqueline and Ashley Schilling, and Nicole and Amanda Einemann.
He was predeceased by his aunts, Bridget Stavropoulos (George) and Maragret Gural (Chet); and cousins, Eileen Essay (Bob) and Joseph McPartlin (Claudia). He is survived by his uncle, John McNally (Katie); aunt Joan Guadettte (Yvan) in Canada; uncles, James Newman (Joan) of New Jersey, and Joseph Newman (Arlene) of California; and his McPartlin cousins, Marie Brenner (Al); and many cousins in Canada and the United States.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew’s Church on Saturday, February 23, at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery in East Hampton, in the family plot. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor.
