Michael Mujsce, 78, of Hampton Bays died on Sunday, November 9, at his home.
Born June 15, 1947, in Brooklyn, he was the son of Herman and Helene (Krajewski) Mujsce.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969.
He married the former Stacey Mahoney in 1981 in a ceremony at the Canoe Place Chapel in Hampton Bays.
Mujsce was the owner of Mickey’s Junk Yard in Flanders.
He was a member of the Long Island Military Vehicle Club, the American Truck Historical Society and the Long Island Antique Power Association.
His family says he collected firetrucks and scrap metal, and helped others start businesses and careers.
He is survived by his wife, Stacey, of Hampton Bays; his children, Michael Jr. (Belinda), Melissa (Robert) Mujsce Wilson, Joseph, Nicolas and Jason; grandchildren Georgi Wilson, Thomas Wilson and Sofia Mujsce — a fourth grandchild, Michael Mujsce, is expected in December; and a brother, Anthony Mujsce.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers George and Herman Jr., and sisters Maryann and Josephine.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, and Friday, November 14, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. each day, at the McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home, 336 Marcy Avenue, Riverhead. A private cremation will be held.
