Michael Nappo Dies At 86

Michael Nappo

Michael Nappo of Hampton Bays died on November 5 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. He was 86.

A retired New York City Police Department detective sergeant and U.S. Army veteran, he is survived by a son, Steven Nappo and his wife Julia of Hampton Bays; three daughters, Joanne Meglio and her husband Dick of North Bellmore, Maureen Morris and her husband Joseph of Massapequa and Jane Ciampi and her husband Kenneth of Florida; a brother, Ralph Nappo and his wife Rosemarie of Brooklyn; a sister, Marie Letteriello of Staten Island; eight grandchildren, Angela Ferington, Althea Allen, Anthony Morris, Robert and Thomas Petrizzo, Michael and Dan Nappo and Jessica Ciampi; and two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and William Ferington.

The family received visitors on November 7 at J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. A funeral mass was held on November 8 at the Church of St. Rosalie, also in Hampton Bays. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.

Under Siege

Our Sag Harbor park tennis courts are under siege. There are eight clay courts and two hard courts.
