Mildred E. Pizzo Of Hampton Bays Dies December 17

Mildred E. “Millie” Pizzo of Hampton Bays died in Southampton on December 17, 2018, after a brief illness. She was 93.

Ms. Pizzo was born in the Bronx on September 13, 1925, to Anna (Mazzelli) and Vincent Piscopo, both of whom were from Naples, Italy.

She was a resident of Hampton Bay for more than 30 years, making many friends along the way. Prior to moving to Hampton Bays, she lived in Mount Pleasant where she worked for Reader’s Digest Corporation. Survivors said she often said “It’s been a wonderful life.”

Predeceased by her husband, Ralph Zarro; she is survived by a son, a daughter-in-law and grandchildren from upstate New York; a brother; and a sister, Barbara Piscopo from Las Vegas.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery.

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor.
