Mildred Elizabeth Hawes
Mildred Elizabeth Hawes of Ellenton, Florida, formerly of Eastport, died on January 19, with her family at her bedside. She was 88.
Ms. Hawes was born on November 30, 1926, in Brooklyn to the late Samuel and Orpah McCullough Lawder. She was a member of the Palma Sola Community Church in Bradenton, where she was the organist for many years. She loved to sing and was a member of the Sweet Adelines. She played the piano at the World’s Fair in 1964, held in New York, and she enjoyed playing for the Choral Society of the Moriches; her favorite piece was Handel’s “Messiah.” Other interests were needlepoint, crafts and playing Mahjong with her friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Broek and husband Dick, Jacquie Paskiewicz and husband Steve, and Joanne Lindsay; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned for June 20 at 11 a.m. at Palma Sola Community Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Palms-Robarts Funeral Home in Sarasota.
