The amazing part of The Express News Group is that it continues to carry water for the Democratic Party despite what it’s done to America and the American people. The present-day Democratic Party is left, socialist-leaning and antisemitic — and yet the newspapers endorse manifestations that inherently support such a premise.
Not once did this paper criticize the Biden administration for spending trillions of dollars that led to a 19 percent cumulative inflation rate. I guess spending billions of dollars of nonsense that adds nothing to the productivity of America, as long as it goes to the “woke” call of social justice, is okay, no matter what it costs Americans.
Congressman Nick LaLota was able to secure a SALT deduction that will help most Long Islanders, but even that wasn’t enough for our esteemed editorial board at The Express News Group [“Let’s Make a Deal,” Editorial, July 10].
Most Americans want Medicaid recipients to contribute, to work and even have skin in the game. But apparently accountability and fraud, which Medicaid historically has been notorious for, means nothing. It’s just bullet points for those who see government as a quintessential means to fixing society’s ills regarding social injustice. The fact is, it’s a false premise steeped in a misguided premise that government can and should pay subsidies to level the playing field.
Government should not be paying for social justice causes, nor for media. We are not a totalitarian society, where government sets parameters on media, nor should we support media that has become inherently biased. To pretend the legacy media has not been corrupted by its own central forces is being untruthful to the American public.
That’s why we have seen a significant change in how Americans view journalists. Despite the fact that journalists continue to cry foul, they have ignored their own bias. When you have to continue to tell us you’re the arbiter of truth, it falls on deaf ears.
Truth is what allows media to flourish. When the media reports that millions will lose Medicaid and thousands will die, most Americans know that there is no truth to that statement. Changes are coming, but catastrophic death and poverty is not.
Accountability is the cornerstone of government, whether it be spending or telling the American people the truth. Narratives are not truth, nor is it speculation. Only time will tell if this new bill brings us prosperity or despair.
The last election was about two things: the border and the economy. This administration fixed the border within days of being sworn in and now is poised to resurrect the economy.
I, too, look forward to the next national election cycle, as it may continue the historic shift back to policies that help everyday Americans.
