A Bridgehampton Fire Department truck blocked Montauk Highway between Water Mill and Bridgehampton on Thursday.

The eastbound lane of Montauk Highway was closed to vehicular traffic between Water Mill and Bridgehampton on Thursday afternoon, though the reason was not known.

When reached by phone, the Southampton Town Police stated they could not say why the road was closed.

Calls to the Bridgehampton Fire Department seeking information about the closure were not immediately returned.
