Montauk School student, Faith Mullaly, 13, will join award-winning singer/PBS-TV host Cristina Fontanelli on stage at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton for a benefit concert on Saturday, August 17, at 7:30 p.m.
Mullaly, who performed at last year’s benefit concert, will perform the Broadway classic from Les Miserable “I Dreamed a Dream.”
Proceeds from the concert will go to the preservation of the basilica.
The young singer is entering eighth grade in September, has participated in NYSSMA and is a regular cantor at St. Therese of Lisieux Church in Montauk. In addition to her performance at the Basilica, she has been invited to sing at the Bay Street Theater, the Old Whalers’ Church, the Blessing of the Montauk Fleet in June 2024, and the Montauk Lighthouse for the restoration ceremony.
Opera & Broadway of the Hamptons is produced under the auspices of The Cristina Fontanelli Foundation Inc., a nonprofit whose mission is to produce concerts and family-friendly entertainment content on-stages (including Carnegie Hall) and across the spectrum of the media giving children/youth performance opportunities, providing tickets to under-privileged families and veterans and spreading awareness about the scientifically-proven healing benefits of classical music and the arts on society and personal health.
The August concert will highlight famous arias/duets from “La Boheme,” “Madame Butterfly” and Broadway hits from “West Side Story,” “Hamilton,” “My Fair Lady” and more, plus famous Italian songs such as ‘O Sole mio’ and Granada.
