Moore Is More

Maria Moore is more qualified to serve as the supervisor of the Town of Southampton than her competitor in the upcoming election. Moore has more relevant experience. Moore has more leadership accomplishments. Moore has more years serving as an elected official. Moore is more.

As you may know, Maria Moore has been serving as the mayor of Westhampton Beach since 2014. During her tenure, she oversaw the reconstruction of Main Street. This was a huge, complex project, and it was a major success. It involved everything: water, sewers, electric and massive construction. She did all this during the challenges posed by COVID.

She has a proven track record of leadership and finely honed management capabilities. And she listens to the average citizen like me. She responded directly and promptly to a couple of concerns that I had when we lived in Westhampton Beach.

Clearly, I am a big fan of Maria Moore. You may very well think that she is a shoo-in for the position of Southampton Town supervisor, given her outstanding record of accomplishments. Please don’t take anything for granted.

A friend of mine, Tom Neely, was by far the most qualified candidate for the position of Southampton Town highway superintendent in 2021. Tom is a career professional in the field of transportation, with a strong track record in his field of expertise. Yet he lost in a very close race to a retired law enforcement officer with scant experience for the town highway job.

Please don’t take anything for granted. Do your homework and vote for the person who is best qualified for the job.

As we are in the process of selling our home in Florida and moving back to the East End, we won’t be back in time to vote in New York this year. However, I hope that everyone who is registered to vote in the Town of Southampton takes the time to vote in this very important election.
