Morris Studio Owner, Carol Whitney Thomason, Dies At 63

Carol Whitney Thomason, owner of the Morris Studio in Southampton, died at home on Friday, April 15. She was 63.

Born on August 6, 1947, in Chicago to William Whitney and Jean Dingee Harold, Ms. Thomason graduated from Wells College.

Ms. Thomason volunteered at East End Hospice for more than 20 years, and was the superintendent of Sunday school, as well as an elder and deacon at the Old Whalers’ Church in Sag Harbor.

She loved animals and walked her dogs faithfully. She was a frequent traveler and her most recent trips included Alaska and the Grand Canyon. Her faith, community, family and friends were of great importance to her, survivors said.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Thomason, and her son, Neal James Thomason of Sag Harbor.

Visitation took place Monday, April 18, at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor. A memorial service was held Tuesday, April 19, at Old Whalers’ Church in Sag Harbor. Interment followed at Oakland Cemetery.
