Motorcyclist Killed In Crash On County Road 39 In Southampton Wednesday Morning

A westbound motorcyclist was killed on County Road 39 in Southampton on Wednesday morning after a collision with another vehicle, according to Southampton Town Police, who were called to the scene at about 7 a.m.The accident closed County Road 39 from Tuckahoe Road to Sandy Hollow Road during rush hour traffic, tying up commuter traffic for nearly three hours. Southampton Fire Department Treasurer Donald King said fire police were called to the scene at about 7:30 a.m.Later on Wednesday morning, Detective Sergeant Lisa Costa of the Southampton Town Police, who was at the scene, said the identity of the motorcyclist had not yet been released, as the family was being notified. The occupant of the other vehicle was not injured. Further information was not immediately available.
