Motorcyclist Killed in Hampton Bays Crash

A Hampton Bays man was killed on Tuesday afternoon when he lost control of his motorcycle on North Road in Hampton Bays.

According to Southampton Town Police, Darwin E. Monsalve Vargas, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Vargas’s motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the accident and no other people were hurt. Police said they have impounded the motorcycle for a safety examination and are still investigating the cause of the crash.

North Road was closed for about two hours, at the height of Tuesday’s rush hour, while police conducted their site investigation into the cause of the crash.
