Mounting Frustration

Mounting FrustrationHave you thought about The Southampton Town Trustees, lately?

Eric Shultz, the former Trustee president, and I, Fred Havemeyer, former secretary-treasurer, have been sitting on the sidelines watching this once respected and productive board rapidly declining in scope and status.

A day hardly goes by when someone doesn’t ask Eric or me what is going on with this board and comment on how quickly it has gone into decline.

You can understand the mounting frustration we feel at watching this board on which we served proudly for many years being run into the ground.

The Town Trustees’ responsibilities include overseeing 25,000 acres of bay bottoms, 100 fresh water lakes and ponds, the shellfish stocks, beach access, Freeholders’ rights under The Dongan Patent, an extensive inventory of boat ramps, docks and roads … and much more.

But, all of this has declined over the last few years. Your assets, infrastructure and rights have taken hits in every direction.

To try and get things back on track, Eric and I have agreed to re-run for positions on The Southampton Town Trustees.

We are on the ballot on Election Day, November 5. Please vote for us on The Libertarian Party line.

The Libertarian Party is a bipartisan organization that recognizes that we need a change from special interest driven politics to government that truly represents the people of Southampton Town, our quality of life, our colonial heritage, and the environment.

We can make a difference.

Frederick Havemeyer

Eric ShultzMr. Havemeyer and Mr. Shultz are running on the Libertarian Party line for Southampton Town Trustee. Mr. Shultz is also running on the Democratic Party line.
