Nancy J. Resling of Hampton Bays dies at 70

Former Hampton Bays resident Nancy J. Resling of Riverhead died at her home on July 7. She was 70.

After 39 years of living in Hampton Bays, she retired to Riverhead three years ago. She was the former owner of Teaberry Florist in Hampton Bays. Family and friends remembered her recently as a lifelong lover and protector of animals.

She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Wade Howes and his wife Dorothy of Flanders, and Christopher Howes and his companion Teri of Hampton Bays; a daughter, Lori Jean 
McDonough and her husband Kevin of Jay, New York, and formerly of Hampton Bays; a sister, Jeanne Davis of Islip Terrace; and a grandson, Matthew 
Wade Howes.

The family held a memorial service on July 11 at J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in 
Hampton Bays. Funeral services, officiated by the Reverend Daniel Harris, the chaplain of the Hampton Bays Fire
 Department, were held on July 12, also at the funeral home in Hampton Bays. Interment of ashes followed at Good Ground Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations
 to the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, 102 Old Riverhead Road West, Hampton Bays, NY 11946 would 
be appreciated by the family.

Hampton Bays Library Budget Approved Amid Huge Voter Turnout

Hampton Bays voters turned out in large numbers and voted to approve the Hampton Bays Public Library budget by a wide margin on Tuesday.
