Ralph Joseph Downs of Westhampton died on May 15 in Clearwater, Florida. He was 94. Born on January 31, 1931, in Westhampton Beach, he was the son of James Sherwood Downs and Ida Downs (Szymanowski). He lived in Westhampton his entire life and remained closely connected to his family and community. He built a long and respected career as a skilled electrician and proud member of IBEW Local 25. A Hampton Bays man was arrested by New York State Police for exchanging sexually explicit and inappropriate photos and messages with a minor in Georgia, State Troopers say. Oswin M. Guillen Padilla, 41, was interviewed by police from the NYSP Computer Crime Unit on Thursday, May 22, at the request of Duluth, Georgia police, who had received a complaint from the victim’s mother reporting that she had discovered numerous photos and videos exchanged between the victim and Padilla.
