The new officers Josiah Hoshyla
Four new Southampton Town police officers were sworn in on Thursday at police headquarters in Hampton Bays. Three part-time officers were elevated to full time status. They are officers Ryan Miller, John Hancock, Josiah Hoshyla. Officer Caryl Pfeiffer was recruited from the New York Police Department.
Chief Steven Skyrnecki said Police Officers Miller, Hancock and Hoshyla have been serving as part time seasonal police officers with excellent performance records. Police Officer Pfeiffer comes to the department from the NYPD where she worked in Manhattan for four years. Chief Skrynecki said she received special training in counter terrorism and speaks fluent Spanish. Officer Ryan Miller joins his father, Sergeant Steve Miller on the force. DANA SHAW PHOTOS
