Nikola J. Kumbatovich of Riverhead died at Peconic Bay Medical Center on October 2. He was 64.
Born in Manhattan on October 16, 1950, he was the son of Nikola and Gloria Kumbatovich. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed NASCAR racing and the races at Riverhead Raceway, and was an avid Cowboys football fan.
Mr. Kumbatovich is survived by his wife, Barbara (Etheridge), whom he married on May 27, 1989; and his children, Robert and Kevin of Southampton, Christina McDonald of Connecticut, Erika Etheridge of Flanders, and Muhammad Fulani of Riverhead; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Linda Cruz of Florida.
A wake will be held on Friday, October 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Galilee Church of God in Christ in Riverhead, followed by a funeral service. Burial is private.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.
