Nina Pisaneschi of East Quogue died peacefully on March 2, with her son Thomas, daughter Alice, and daughter-in-law Lori at her side. She was 92.
Born on New Year’s Day, she received birthday calls from friends and family at all hours of the night on New Year’s Eve. She spent her early years in the Bronx and later married her husband, Aldo Pisaneschi, who served in the U.S. Air Force. Together, they relocated to the air base in Westhampton before settling in East Quogue, where they spent the rest of their lives.
As a first-generation Italian-American, she was the only member of her family born in the United States. In her youth, she worked as a hairdresser for Larry Mathews in New York City. Additionally, she operated a catering business in Quogue with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Aldo Pisaneschi. She is survived by her four children, Robert, James, Thomas, and Alice; 11 grandchildren, Karen, Steve, Bobby, Kyle, Tori, Robbie, Brett, Jason, Andrew, Dylan, and Christopher; six great-grandchildren, Alexia, Jaxon, Rani, Ella, Oliver and Lilah; and her daughters-in-law, Lori and Kathy.
Services will be held at Scott Rothwell Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on March 5, with visiting hours from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will take place on March 6 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rosalie’s Church in Hampton Bays, followed by burial in Calverton National Cemetery.
