Oh boy! Who is “reigning” on the parade [“Furious About Float, Village Board Member Calls For Banning FD From Next Year’s Parade,” 27east.com, July 14]? Since when is anything coined “patriotic” not seen from the other side as idiotic? It seems another way to spell “political” is “n-o f-u-n.”
North Sea has always been the reason one stayed for the whole thing … to watch the float bellowing smoke as it slowly approached, to laugh at the efforts to burn down a building and not catch anything else on fire, and possibly to remain on the sidelines but stay dry.
