The Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center, 551 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike in Bridgehampton, has announced “The Center of It All Recovery Group” will be hosted by the center in an effort to broaden the nonprofit’s reach into the community it serves.
“‘The Center of it All Recovery Group’ is for anyone who is in recovery and needs additional encouragement. Participants will gather vital support from group members as well as community resources to create an action plan to live life beyond addiction. Groups like this are important to begin to interrupt the addiction thought patterns to create healthy habits,” reads a statement from the center, issued as a part of a press release earlier this week.
Beginning Monday, April 12, the meetings will be held on Mondays at 7 p.m. at The Center. All group meetings will be confidential and individual sessions are available. The group will be peer lead and facilitated by Kim Jones, a certified peer recovery advocate. Ms. Jones has 10 years of experience with substance misuse, and recovery groups in outpatient and correctional facilities.
“The reason for the name is because recovery is at the center of everything that is involved in a recovering addict’s life. We are very happy to be able to start our own recovery group at The Center,” said Ms. Jones. “Our new department is to educate the community on the latest drug trends and available services for support. I provide evidence-based programs to schools, as well as community organizations and groups. As a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate, I provide, connect, and create individuals with a support network. For individuals not in substance recovery, I assist with creating a realistic plan of life goals, such as education, money management, housing, and working through barriers that prevent one’s success. As Community Outreach, I source potential organizations and opportunities that would be beneficial to The Center and the families and individuals that we serve.”
“I am very excited about this newly formed group at The Center being led by the very capable Kim Jones,” Executive Director Bonnie Cannon said. “I am so glad to have Kim as a part of our team here at The Center. She has stepped into her new role as substance misuse and community outreach advocate and is off and running. We want to be sure that those in need of these services can get the help and support they need. Helping. Teaching. Loving. Caring. Supporting. We are The Center.”
