Not So Fast

My understanding of governance is that a group of citizens who decides before an election who will represent the populous, and what their salaries will be, is considered a lobbying group at best or an oligarchy at worst.

The proposals put forth by the village exploratory committee lead me to the conclusion that we in East Quogue do need protection, as I have seen on some signs around town. However, what the citizens of East Quogue need is protection from the small cabal who continue to abuse our democracy with their misguided interpretations and creation of laws and procedures that suit their own interests.

There also is a need to safeguard the constituency from being duped by the vague and unsubstantiated promises promoted by this same group.

Vote no to incorporating East Quogue.
