The Hamptons Observatory will host a free virtual lecture about auroras on Thursday, February 20, at 7 p.m. Dr. Elizabeth MacDonald, space physicist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and founder of aurorasaurus.org, is the guest speaker.
The next observatory lecture is March 11 with Dr. Avi Loeb, professor of science at Harvard University, director of the Institute for Theory & Computation at Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, and head of the Galileo Project, who will talk about “The Search for Interstellar Objects of Technological Origin.” Dr. Loeb is exploring the question: Are the interstellar objects we’re finding natural rock or the space trash of another technological civilization?
