Otis Allan Glazebrook IV of East Hampton died at his home on March 28. He was 65.

Mr. Glazebrook was born on August 6, 1948, in Philadelphia to Otis Allan Glazebrook III and the former Suzanne Ewing Howard. He grew up in Bedford; however, his fondest memories from youth were centered on the family summer home in Lake Placid, his survivors said.

They said he was extremely passionate in his interests. He was a downhill skier, skiing at Whiteface Mountain as a young boy, a member of the ski team at the Fountain Valley School in Colorado, and he moved to Vail, Colorado, to continue to train for the national team.

Mr. Glazebrook also was a water skier, competing in amateur competitions and skiing professionally in water ski shows.

He was a sailor and raced in Sag Harbor and Lake Champlain. His interest in sailing led him to work on innovative designs for America’s Cup sailboats.

His interests in history and politics led to him to extensively research his family genealogy. He was actively involved in Alpha Tau Omega National Fraternity, a fraternity founded by his great-grandfather, serving on the ATO Foundation’s board of directors. He designed a national headquarters building in the shape of the ATO badge.

Mr. Glazebrook was a self-taught architectural draftsman, working with many local architects and serving on the Sag Harbor Village Zoning Board of Appeals.

He is survived by his mother, Suzanne Ewing of Bedford, a sister, Zina, two brothers, Michael and Larkin and wife Cece, two nephews, Larkin and Otis, and his life partner, Mary Trabona.

A service was held on April 5 at the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor. Interment was at the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia.

Donations may be made to Fountain Valley School, 6155 Fountain Valley School Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80911 (fvs.edu) or to the Alpha Tau Omega Foundation, 32 East Washington Street, Suite 1350, Indianapolis, IN 46204 (www.ato.org).

Cannabis Chaos

Last fall, at an Express Sessions event, then-State Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr. compared New York State’s rollout of its cannabis laws to the rollout of the Titanic — unfavorably. Today, if possible, it looks even worse. Not every municipality in the state is feeling the fallout — and, in fact, Southampton Town is alone on the South Fork. That’s because former Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman successfully lobbied his Town Board colleagues to opt in and allow cannabis dispensaries to open in the town, seduced by the $1 million to $2 million in annual tax revenue he expected once the ... by Editorial Board
