rin Boughton and Christopher Scapellati accompanied their eighth grade students on a tour of lower Manhattan, centered on their research of the Ground Zero project. The students traveled by train and subway and toured the site of the September 11 tragedy, the Tribute center and adjacent landmarks.
The construction of the new OLH Wellness Center is progressing, with the gym area scheduled to open in November. An informal open house is planned for the community once the certificate of occupancy is received. The school is reaching out to the community for support and donations in helping to make the completion of the classroom wing a reality. Tickets are now on sale for the annual Bucks for Books raffle with the chance to win a $15,000 first prize. The drawing will be December 17. Tickets can be obtained at the school or by calling 283-9140.
