Out Of Reach

I think it’s great that we are creating affordable housing units in our town. However, for those at the lower end of the wage scale, even those are out of reach financially.

Why not affordable rentals? Set a number of units in each development as permanent rental units that have controlled rates.

As of now, our children are pouring out of our town. I would love to see them be able to stay here if they wish. Or have a place to return to once they have established their careers elsewhere.

And, maybe more important, it would allow our workforce to live closer to their jobs, which is beneficial to their families, the environment, the traffic, our roads and local businesses where they’ll shop.
