Pablo Saldivar of Sag Harbor, and formerly of Hampton Bays, died at Southampton Hospital on April 11 from injuries sustained in a car accident in Southampton. He was 16.

Born February 17, 1993, in Cuernavaca, Mexico, he transferred last September from the Hampton Bays School District to Bridgehampton School, where he played for the school’s basketball team.

He is survived by his parents, Jose Luis Sandivar Cabrera and Jatzin Ruiz Aranda, and two brothers, Eric Roberto Saldivar, 14, and Luis Fernando Saldivar, 18.

The family will receive visitors today, April 16, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home, 94 Pantigo Road, East Hampton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 17, at 2 p.m. at the Iglesia Faro A Las Naciones, Bridgehampton United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Good Ground Cemetery in Hampton Bays.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of May 8

Gintaras Satas, 58, of Mastic was arrested at about 11:30 p.m. on May 2 and charged with misdemeanor DWI and several vehicle and traffic violations after the vehicle he was driving nearly struck a Southampton Town Police car that was on the side of Montauk Highway in Water Mill with its lights on conducting a traffic stop of another vehicle. When approached by the officer, Satas was found to be unsteady on his feet and a breath alcohol test indicated he had been drinking more than the legal limit, according to police. by Staff Writer

Renny Lopez-Bermeo, 27, of East Hampton was arrested by Southampton Town Police at about 7 p.m. on April 27 and charged with felony DWI after he was pulled over for driving erratically on Lynncliff Road near Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays.
