Hope for Depression Research Foundation will host a free panel discussion on the four pillars of mental health on Friday, July 15, from 11 a.m. to noon, at the Southampton Arts Center, 25 Jobs Lane in Southampton Village.
The panel was curated by the foundation, as well as Simone Levinson, the founding co-chair of Southampton Arts Center and will feature panelists including Bob Roth, CEO of the David Lynch Foundation, one of the most experienced and sought-after meditation teachers in America. Roth, who has taught transcendental meditation to thousands, will share insights about the science of meditation.
Eddie Stern, yoga instructor and author of “One Simple Thing: A New Look at the Science of Yoga and How It Can Transform Your Life,” will discuss how the benefits of the practice of yoga are supported by scientific evidence.
Jamie Pabst, founder and CEO of Spiritune, has spent recent years exploring how sound and music impact our brain and lead to reliable and targeted mental health outcomes.
Ivey Leidy, nutrition expert and coach, who helps others find their path to holistic wellness through her brand, Living with Ivey.
The event is scheduled as part of the Week of Hope, during which local businesses display yellow statement balloons, showcasing their commitment to raising awareness of mental health. The week will culminate with the seventh annual Race of Hope to Defeat Depression on August 7 in Southampton Village.
