The Parrish Art Museum will host a free summer arts and food festival on Sunday, June 23, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on its grounds in Water Mill.
Adults, children, and families will get free admission all day, plus free activities including film screenings, art workshops, and guided viewings in the galleries. Museum educators, Parrish docents, teaching artists from the community, and other staff will be on site to support these activities and to answer questions.
During the event, attendees can try the museum’s new mini print vending machine from Inciardi Prints. For just $1, the machine dispenses a print.
At 11 a.m., there will be a “Fallen Fruit Talk & Art Project” with David Allen Burns and Austin Young about their 20-year practice of commissioned art projects in the public realm. Using strategies of collage and collaboration, they will create a topical magazine with participants who may contribute to the digital zine created specifically for the Parrish Art Museum and the East End of Long Island.
In addition, food trucks will be on site.
Art workshops are planned throughout the day and gallery tours, including bilingual offerings, will be led by docents from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
