Patricia Bevier Flammer
Patricia B. Flammer of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and Westhampton Beach died at Hilton Head Hospital on Sunday, November 20. She was 90.
Beloved wife of 65 years to the late Harold “Duke” Flammer, Ms. Flammer was a successful entrepreneur and community leader. She was very active as a real estate agent both in Pelham and Westhampton Beach. She also enjoyed her time as president of the Westhampton Garden Club, expressing her love of flowers and flower arranging. She was involved in planning and orchestrating various landscaping projects to beautify the village. She also served as an active member of the Junior League in Pelham Manor and was instrumental in forming the Pelham Youth Employment Agency, a summer work program for local teenagers.
Through the Pelham League Larks, she was able to share her joy of music by performing in nursing homes and other league events. When she and Duke moved to Hilton Head, she continued her love of music and commitment to God by joining St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church and choir.
She is survived by three children, Bonnie Flammer Coates of Virginia, Charlie Flammer of Massachusetts, Rick Flammer of Texas; eight grandchildren, Lisa Flammer of Oregon, Kristen Flammer Johnson of Chile, Halley Flammer Lisius of Colorado, Pepper Chastain of Texas, Patty Coates Horan Maryland, Sharon Coates Raines of Virginia and Robbie Coates Jr. of Virginia, Benjamin Flammer of Massachusetts; and two great-grandchildren, Michael Raines and Cameron Coates.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 14, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church in Hilton Head, with a reception at the Cypress immediately following interment. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Island Funeral Home and Crematory.
