Patricia Conway Nichols
Patricia Conway Nichols of Westhampton and Eastport died at Cedar Lodge Nursing Home in Center Moriches on Friday, September 2. She was 78.
Born January 9, 1933, in Parsons, Kansas, “Patsy” as she was known, was a graduate of the DePaul Hospital School of Nursing in Norfolk, Virginia. She worked as a registered nurse in the operating room of Central Suffolk Hospital, now the Peconic Bay Medical Center, for more than 25 years. She was also an active member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Quiogue for more than 45 years.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Wilson Nichols; children, Commander Mark R. Nichols and his wife Eva Marie Schaupp Nichols of Maryland, Eric P. Nichols and his wife Julie DiRocco Nichols of East Moriches, Eileen A. Nichols and her husband Allen Smith of East Quogue, Christopher J. Nichols of Westhampton; and grandchildren, Chelsea D. Nichols and Jacub E. Smith.
The family received friends on Monday, September 5, at Follett & Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach. On Tuesday, September 6, a funeral Mass took place at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Quiogue. Interment followed at Westhampton Cemetery.
