Patricia Mary O'Hare Boden Of Hampton Bays Dies December 2

Patricia Mary O’Hare Boden of Hampton Bays died on December 2, 2016. She was 90.

Born September 18, 1926, in Staten Island, she was proud of her volunteer service with the Red Cross as a “Gray Lady” during World War II. She worked for Kennecott Copper in Manhattan for several years before leaving to get married in 1955. She was a baby photographer for Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn before moving full time to Hampton Bays in 1969.

Survivors said she loved the beach and spent every summer day at Tiana Beach while her children were young. She was a volunteer dispatcher for the Hand Aldrich Post 924 American Legion Ambulance in Hampton Bays for several years and worked for Suffolk County in several clerical capacities after the death of her husband. Later, she worked for the Hampton Bays School District, during budget votes and board elections.

Mrs. Boden was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Arthur V. Boden Jr., who died in 1980; and a brother, John B. O’Hare, who died in 2014. She is survived by five children, Robert G. Boden and wife Annie Laurie, Arlene O’Rourke and husband Dennis, Susan Boden, Janet Boden, and John A. Boden and wife Nancy, all of Hampton Bays; nine grandchildren, Kevin O’Rourke, Brian O’Rourke and wife Kristen, Kathleen O’Rourke and Liam O’Rourke, Sean M. Boden and wife Nicolle, Kristen Waggoner and husband John, Thomas B. Rosante, Samantha A. Boden and Connor D. Boden; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting was at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. A funeral Mass took place on December 7 at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays. Burial followed at Calverton National Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Castles in the Sky, a nonprofit that raises money for mental health research, castlesinthesky.org.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH — On February 27, an individual living on Mitchell Road in Westhampton Beach reported that several items, including designer handbags and stereo equipment, had gone missing from both her apartment and a storage unit while she was away on a trip out of the country. Najendra Roopnarine, 31, of Schenectedy was arrested by Quogue Village Police on March 3 at 8:05 p.m. and charged with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over on Montauk Highway in Quogue after being observed failing to maintain his lane, according to police, who said his blood alcohol content exceeded .18 percent, elevating the charge to the aggravated level. Quogue Police: Hampton Bays Woman Arrested After Stealing Money From Employer

On March 4 at 12:55 p.m., Quogue Village Police arrested Kristin Greene, 44, of Hampton Bays and charged her with third-degree grand larceny, a felony. The arrest was the result of a more than yearlong investigation by the Quogue Village Police Detective Unit that began with an initial report of a theft on January 6, 2024, at a business on Jessup Avenue.
