Patricia “Patty” Polakiewicz, of Southampton died on July 25 at The Kanas Center for Hospice Care on Quiogue. She was 76.
Born on February 24, 1949, in Newport, Rhode Island, she lived a life filled with warmth, friendship, and dedication.
She spent the majority of her professional life with SHW&S Land Surveyors in Southampton. Though she often joked about how busy she was, it was clear to all who knew her that she deeply loved her work and the people she worked alongside.
Beyond her professional life, she cultivated many friendships and connections that brought joy and meaning to her days. She shared a special journey with her friends and stepfamily, the Ribeiros. Together they created cherished memories through annual ski trips to New Hampshire and countless holidays and events.
Thirty-five years ago, she purchased a home in North Sea — a place she lovingly transformed into what many considered the most charming house in the neighborhood. Her pride in her home was matched only by the affection she held for her neighbors with whom she built lasting friendships.
Her compassion and love left an indelible mark on those around her, her family said. Her death leaves a profound void in the hearts of her friends and neighbors whose lives were brightened by her kindness and spirit, they said.
At her request, no formal service will be held.
Donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) or to East End Hospice (eeh.org).
