Patrick J. Schaefer Of Sag Harbor Dies July 15

Patrick J. Schaefer of Sag Harbor died on July 15 at Stony Brook University Medical Center. He was 54.

A lifelong resident of Sag Harbor, he graduated from Pierson High School in 1979 and was a member of the basketball team when it won the New York State Championship in 1978-79. He served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was self-employed and enjoyed fishing and shellfishing. Survivors said he was a friend to animals.

Mr. Schaefer was predeceased by his parents, Vernon and Elizabeth Schaefer; and a brother, Paul Schaefer. He is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Manning of Oakdale; two brothers, Peter Schaefer of Sag Harbor and Perry Schaefer of Michigan; nieces, Paige Schaefer of Sag Harbor and Samantha Schaefer of Michigan; and a nephew, Peter Schaefer of Sag Harbor.

A funeral service took place on July 22 at St. Andrew’s Church in Sag Harbor. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor.
