Pattern Of Corruption

Donald Trump has a long-established record of lying and cheating and stiffing the people that he deals with. With respect to political malfeasance, his record follows a clear pattern. These are three direct quotes made by Trump on live TV:

July 13, 2016: “Russia, if you are listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing” (Hillary Clinton’s emails). Coincidentally(?), July 13 is the very same day the Russians made their first attempt to break into the servers used by Mrs. Clinton’s personal office.

October 3, 2019: “Well, I would think if they” — the Ukrainians “were honest about it, they’d start a major investigation into the Bidens. It’s a very simple answer. They should investigate the Bidens.”

October 3, 2019: “Likewise, China should start an investigation into the Bidens, because what happened in China is just about as bad as what happened in Ukraine.”

So, here are three direct quotes by Trump eliciting assistance from three different foreign countries to intercede on his personal behalf to help him in our “free and fair” elections. Abuse of power, extortion, bribery … cheating.

My background is in economics and finance. I am a big believer in charts, trends and patterns … they repeat themselves. Lawyers also rely on patterns of behavior in their pursuit of convicting criminals.

Trump had been a con artist forever in New York, and everyone knew it … he was a big joke and just another New York character. Then he became a reality TV celebrity, and he parlayed that into a presidential run that shocked even him — he never expected to win. (Actually, he lost the popular vote by 3 million people … but he won the Electoral College by winning in a few states, primarily in the Midwest, by the slimmest of margins.)

So, now Trump is being impeached in the House. But it appears that most Republican congressmen are ignoring the facts and continuing their support of this corrupt president.

In my humble opinion, history will excoriate the Republican Party and its members in the House (including our local congressman, Lee Zeldin) and the Senate for their enabling of Donald Trump, the most corrupt president in our history, and for their failure to uphold their oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

God help us, please …
