Paul A. Penny
Paul A. Penny of Hampton Bays died at his home on April 23. He was 83.
Born in Southampton on August 21, 1929, to Alexander Penny and Aileen (Fuller) Penny, his roots in Hampton Bays, known early on as Good Ground, are deep on both sides of the family—both parents were members of the community. He worked for the Suffolk County Department of Public Works for 37 years before his retirement. Among his favorite pastimes were boating, antique cars and cooking. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Penny is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce A. (Squires); a son, Dana F. Penny of Hampton Bays; and a daughter, Dawn R. Penny-Bailey and husband Timothy of Hampton Bays; a brother Esmond, known as “Pete,” M. Penny and wife Ruth of Hampton Bays; a sister Jeanne M. McConnell; and a sister-in-law, Melissa. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Brian Penny and Alvin Penny and wife Elaine; and a brother-in-law, Dan McConnell.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home.
