Paul Allan Distefano of Southampton died on November 17 in Southampton. He was 65.

Mr. Distefano was born in Southampton to Salvatore Distefano and Evelyn Renkens on October 20, 1955.

He attended Southampton High School and went on to work in the excavating field. In 1980, he started North Sea Trucking and Excavating. In 2005, Mr. Distefano was the co-founder of Amaryllis Farm Equine Rescue.

He devoted a large part of his time to helping others, his family said, noting that he loved to chat with friends, family, and acquaintances. He was famous for his free monologues on any given subject at local gas stations or other establishments, they said.

Mr. Distefano is survived by his wife Christine Barrett Distefano; a daughter Rachel Distefano; three children from his previous marriage, Robin Oliver and her husband Donald, Paul S. Distefano and his wife Beth, Stacey Distefano and her significant other Jimmy; his grandchildren Ashley Rewinski and her husband Thomas, Diana Oliver, Madison and James White; his brother John Distefano; his best friend Brian Bess. He was pre-deceased by his father Salvatore Distefano; mother Evelyn Honnett; and step-father Thomas Honnett.

Visitation and funeral service were held at Brockett’s Funeral Home on Saturday, November 21, 2020 with Pastor Richard King officiating, private cremation to follow.

Memorial donations may be made to Amaryllis Farm Equine Rescue, 44 Little Fresh Pond Rd, Southampton, NY 11968.
