Paul Victor Kneski of Westhampton died at his home on October 21 with family present. He was 94.

He was born on February 16, 1928, in Westhampton to parents John Frank and Victoria Kneski (nee Ketcham) in the house he died in. All of his grandparents were from Poland.

He was married to Josephine Kneski (nee Doroski) in August of 1948 in St. Isidore’s RC Church in Riverhead. They were life-long parishioners of the RC Church of the Immaculate Conception in Quiogue.

Kneski attended Westhampton Beach High School and shared stories of duties looking for enemy submarines during WWII from the school belfry while attending. He had a remarkable memory of local history of the Westhampton area.

He was probably best known for the local paving business that he started with his father.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Elliott. He is survived by his brother Bernard; his children, John, Robert, Peter, Paul, and Michele; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at Werner-Rothwell Funeral Home, located at 60 Mill Road, Westhampton Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 26, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will follow at Westhampton Cemetery.

The family asks that you consider planting a memorial tree in memory of Paul through the Werner-Rothwell website as he and his wife were avid nature enthusiasts.
