Southampton Town Police are looking for a vehicle that fled the scene of a hit and run in Riverside that claimed the life of 33 year old David Humberto-Amaya on Thursday,January 13.
He was struck at approximately 6:20 p.m. in the vicinity of Flanders Road near Old Quogue Road. Humberto-Amaya was described by officials as “undomiciled.”
After 911 calls reported the pedestrian was struck, responding officers rendered aid until Flanders Ambulance arrived. The victim was transported to University Hospital at Stony Brook via Medivac helicopter. He succumbed to his injuries there.
On Monday, January 14, Town Police asked for the public’s help in finding the Jeep that fled the scene. It’s described as a grey “box type” Jeep Cherokee with front end damage. Anyone with information is asked to call 631- 702-2230.
