Peggy Irene Field of Sag Harbor died on November 28 at her home. She was 86.

Born in Westbury on August 23, 1922, to Tekla (née Hamstron) and Jack Twist, she was a homemaker and, according to her daughter Adele O’Connell, she was a devoted caretaker for her two grandsons, Zachariah and Jacob O’Connell.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Vankovics and Adele O’Connell, both of Sag Harbor; four stepdaughters, Frances Hand, Wilma Schaefer, Alice Rozzi, and Tekla James; two grandsons; and many step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William B. Field, in 1996, and a stepdaughter, Peggy Baronowski.

Services were held on December 1 at Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor, followed by interment at Oakland Cemetery, also in Sag Harbor.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 2725, Sag Harbor, NY 11963 would be appreciated by the family.

A simple fact about the SALT deductions is being obscured with Nick Lakota’s statements in the news. If the 2017 tax rules expire, residents will once again be able to deduct 100 percent of their state and local taxes. Volunteer Ambulance HQ To Be Dedicated During Open House
