Peggy Steuerer Dies At 89

Marguerite “Peggy” Steuerer (nèe Conroy) of Hampton Bays and Pennsylvania died at the Heritage Hill Adult Facility in Pennsylvania on Sunday, August 14. She was 89.

She was a homemaker and mother of eight children. For more than 25 years she was a confraternity of Christian doctrine teacher at the Roman Catholic Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays and was a member of the Catholic Daughters there. She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Ms. Steuerer recently moved to Weatherly, Pennsylvania, where she could be closer to her daughter.

She is survived by eight children, John Steuerer of Manhattan, Patricia Kummer and her husband Mike of Pennsylvania, Joanne Houlihan and her husband Pat of Rockville Center, Maureen Witkowski and her husband Dennis of Florida, Mickey Steuerer and his wife Trish of Ossining, Jerry Steuerer and his wife Pam of Florida, Timothy Steuerer and his wife Tricia of New Jersey, and Kathleen Badgley and her husband Steve of Florida; 22 grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Stacy, Danny, Krissy, Meghan, 
Brian, Patrick, Ryan, Jon, Eric, Scott, Kevin, Bridget, Jeanne, Michael, McKenzie, Shawn, 
Jacqueline, Jenna, Gregory 
and Tyler; and five great-grandchildren, Liam, Aren, Natalie, Jack and Trevor. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, John J. Steuerer, who died in 2006.

Visiting hours will be at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home on Thursday, August 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Clergy of St. Rosalie’s will conduct a parish prayer service at 3 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 19, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rosalie’s Church. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, alzfdn.org.

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor.
