On Tuesday, November 5, voters have the opportunity to elect two outstanding candidates, John Bouvier and Craig Catalanotto, to the Southampton Town Council. They are the perfect combination to work on the town’s most important problems.
John Bouvier, with his background in science and engineering, has worked tirelessly on water quality and energy initiatives during his last four years on the Town Council. His many accomplishments include a rebate program to help our residents replace old septic systems with new Innovative and Alternative (I/A) septic systems to reduce nutrients in our groundwater. In conjunction with the county rebates, replacing your septic system essentially will be free.
John is known for working well with all other governments, including county and state. Assemblyman Fred Thiele stated, “No elected official on the East End has done more to protect our water than John Bouvier.” We need to have John continue his good work.
Craig Catalanotto is a breath of fresh air. He is new to the political process. Craig, an energetic business owner, comes from the Speonk-Remsenburg area, which has been underrepresented in town government. However, he has been very active in his community and is well-known for his collaborative and positive results. Craig is credited with bringing together diverse groups, such as the town, the community and the builders, to accomplish the building of affordable housing. It resulted in Speonk Commons, a model for the town to move forward with desperately needed affordable housing.
John Bouvier, with his science and engineering background and interest in water quality and energy, and Craig Catalanotto, with his background in business management and ability to bring people together to achieve results, provide the perfect combination for Town Council to move our town forward and solve our most pressing problems.
