Perpetuates A Lie

Critical race theory is becoming a destructive distraction for many students in our public schools. Its focus is group equity rather than individual equality.

Each American, Black, white, brown or any other color, has certain inalienable rights assured by our Constitution and its Bill of Rights, including its 27 amendments. These rights include individual liberty and equal opportunity for each of us. Unfortunately, CRT promotes the idea that Blacks do not have the same right as other groups. Their “evidence” is often the lack of academic success of many Black students in our public schools, mostly in our inner-city schools. Yet our schools offer equal opportunities for each individual student to “not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

Our Constitution does not guarantee equal outcomes, but it does guarantee equal individual opportunities. CRT wants to guarantee equal outcomes regardless of who earned them.

CRT promotes the lie “Black and white citizens with equal education, employment, ideas, industry and effort cannot attain similar outcomes.” For those promoting CRT, race is all that matters. Upward mobility is denied by CRT advocates. Consider the success of Colin Powell and President Barack Obama. Each of us has our own pathway to success.

CRT strives to promote “intergenerational guilt” by making successors responsible for ancestors. This is immoral. Consider Ezekiel 18:20: “The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father.”

CRT discounts data that disproves its lie: America is racist. We have 40 million Americans born in other countries. Twenty-five percent of America’s millionaires are Black, Hispanic or Asian Americans. Notice our Southern border.
