Peter Edward Zuhusky of Southampton died on May 9 at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care on Quiogue, surrounded by his family. He was 63.
Survivors said his extraordinary life spanned six decades in Wantagh, Manhattan, Southampton, and Sanibel Island, Florida. He was a successful entrepreneur and co-owner of the Manhattan-based firm, Despatch Moving and Storage Co., Inc., during which time he spurred the company into new growth and made successful real estate investments. He was a talented businessman, competitive swimmer and had passion for the game of golf.
Mr. Zuhusky was genuine and deeply loyal to his family and friends who adored him, survivors said.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Krikalo Zuhusky; a daughter, Pamela Lynn Zuhusky; and two sons, Andrew Joseph Zuhusky and Philip Edward Zuhusky; his mother, Sheila A. Zuhusky of Sanibel; five siblings, Joseph A. Zuhusky Jr., of Florida, Anne Z. Whitman of Maryland, David W. Zuhusky of Florida, Joan Z. Fee of Massachusetts, and James J. Zuhusky of Southampton; and 11 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mentor, Joseph Albert Zuhusky.
Interment will be private for immediate family at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Cemetery in Southampton.
