Our beloved, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away on February 23, 2023.

Pete was born in Southampton, New York. He was better known as “Poppy”. He was a dedicated family man. Married to the love of his life Darleen (Gay) Deleski for 57 years. Their love story began as an engagement at Tides Beach, Sag Harbor NY. Blessed with three children Karine (Kenny), Paul (Dawn) and Peter (Karen). He adored his grandchildren Brittany, Rebecca, Mitchell, Emma and Kate along with his great grandchildren Rilynn and Ronan. He was the life of the party whose smile and hazel eyes lit up any room he entered.

He loved socializing with friends. His family and friends were his pride and happiness. He worked as a skilled carpenter for 40 years and was meticulous with the finish work in some of the most beautiful homes on the East End. He was a 21 year honorary member of the Sag Harbor Fire Department and proud ex- captain of the Otter Hose Company 3. He enjoyed playing golf with the guys at Sag Harbor Golf Club. He had a talent for being a ringer in horseshoes and was known to dance the night away with his beautiful wife at many Fire Department events!

His love and kindness will be cherished always and he will be held in our hearts forever. A celebration of his and Darleens life will be held Summer 2023.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 12

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over after being observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway, police said.
