Philip R. James of New York City and Southampton died on July 1 of pneumonia and Alzheimer’s at White Plains Hospital in White Plains. He was 84.
A graduate of St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire, he received a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, and worked as a heating, ventilation and air conditioning engineer with Citicorp for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Mai Zara James of New York City and Southampton; and four nieces.
A memorial service will be announced in a future edition of The Press.
