Police are looking for the arsonist who set a fire in the woods in East Quogue.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Southampton Town Police are looking for help finding the person who, on Saturday, April 10, just before 3 p.m., set a fire in the woods in East Quogue.

The fire ravaged about a half-acre of Southampton Town woodlands located near Josiah Path and Eisenhower Drive. The blaze killed an Eastern box turtle. The Eastern box turtle is a species of special concern in New York State.

Crime Stoppers will offer a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Individuals with information may submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS. All texts, calls, or emails are kept confidential, police said.

CMEE To Host Family New Year's Eve Event

The Children’s Museum of the East End in Bridgehampton will ring in 2026 with a daytime New Year’s Eve celebration designed especially for young families.
